SLEEP....or the lack of!

K, so this is the deal...Addy does really good for like a week and only wakes up around 3am, eats and goes back to sleep. Then we have like a 2 week span that she is up every hour! I am almost to the end of my rope on idea's so if you have any tips to making a child sleep I am open to ANYTHING!! She has a super set schedule so I don't understand what makes her good and then not. I can't let her cry herself to sleep so that is out of the question....and in order for me to function as a normal human I need more than 2 hours of sleep a night. I keep telling her it's a good thing she's so cute or I'd have to beat her!! :) (K not really) So, give me your ideas! PLEASE, I'm begging!! :0)

What a cutie. I love the earings, they are so cute. What a little girly girl. So the sleeping thing is so hard, but my advice is don't make it fun at all when they wake up. Don't be mean, but I wouldn't rock her, give her a bottle, or give her much attention at all. Try to let her know that it is bed time. When Dal went through this phase I would go in his room lay him down and give him his monkey, I tried not to talk to him or give him much eye contact. Then I would leave the room and he would usually start crying again, so I would go in and do the same thing again. I tried it several times, sometimes letting him fuss for a few minutes before going in. Eventually he would fall asleep. Also, it helped when Marc would go in and lay him down, then he knew we meant business. Hopefully that helps a little. Good luck

Hey! She is so cute! Love the earrings. I am not brave enough yet to do Caymans. You need to let her cry. I said I would not do it and after a year of her sleeping in our bed, I finally gave in. It only took 2 or 3 nights. She only cried for maybe 15 minutes and then she would go right to sleep. She will cry and you will feel really bad and want to pick her up, but for a good nights rest you really need to do it. I promise she won't hate you and she won't even remember it later. Give in and get some sleep. Maybe try putting in a fan and start some music. With Cayman we do prayers, turn on her fan, turn on her music, give her a binky and lay her down in the crib with her dolly. She know its sleepy time and it is great!! She still wakes up once a night, but we can get her back to sleep much easier. Hope this works. She is so cute!!

I have to agree with the above. Mason was the WORST sleeper and sometimes woke up 7 or 8 times a night! I thought I was going to loose my mind. I have never been able to let my kids cry.....until him. I just couldn't do it anymore. Plus his doctor told me that I was doing a real disservice to him by getting up with him and feeding him during the night. She said I was actually training him to wake up....and she was totally right. It took a few nights of letting him cry and it sucked....but he is a FABulous sleeper now.
